NORTH FORT MYERS, FL — A man known for loitering outside of a Walmart in North Fort Myers had been seen by employees going into the store on Sunday morning and they immediately contacted 9-1-1. Due to his frequent loitering, a “no trespassing order” had been issued on his behalf. The man stepped outside after purchasing a Mike’s Hard Lemonade and opened the drink before heading to his usual spot. When authorities arrived and began to approach him, he called 9-1-1 himself. When the dispatcher answered, he had them on speaker phone, and said “9-1-1, what’s your emergency?” He hung up the phone. He was arrested on a warrant for previous trespassing at the location being violated, as well as drinking from an open alcoholic container. He also got into a physical struggle with authorities when they tried to detain him, so a resisting arrest was added to his other charges of trespassing, drinking from an open alcoholic container, and misuse of 9-1-1.
