Dolores J. Hefler, 96 of Streator passed away Saturday (April 12, 2025) at the ARC – Streator.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:30 A.M. at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10 – 11:30 A.M. with the rosary recited at 9:45. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
Born April 30, 1928, in Streator to John and Emma (Seroka) Lesak. She married James Hefler on October 5, 1968.
She is survived by her husband James, daughter Brenda Cieslak of Canton, MI, son Brian Hefler of Corning, NY, 4 grandchildren, brother Gene Lesak of Monclova, OH, sisters Theresa Hogan of Odell and Rita Pshak of Tonica, sister-in-laws, Joy Brewer and Doris Tanner both of Streator, several nieces and nephews and family friend Dennis Emmick.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marcella Handzo and Elsie Trainor.
She was born and raised in Streator, she attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1944. Dolores worked at Thatcher Glass for over 40 years. She loved traveling, dancing and going to garage sales. She will be dearly missed.
Memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
