UTICA – New audio and visual upgrades are coming to visitors to Starved Rock State Park. The Starved Rock Historical and Educational Foundation Board approved a $33,000 upgrade to the Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center. Planned improvements include enhanced viewing and listening experiences, helping to ensure everyone can enjoy the park films and educational presentations. The upgrades include new speakers and amplifiers, Bluetooth capability for visitors with hearing aids, closed captioning of films, and new screen, and a new control board and exterior monitor.
“Over the past few decades, the Foundation has provided unwavering support to the park,” said Site Superintendent Alvin Harper, “Their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in visitor recreation, education, and conservation.”
